The fundamental solution for the steel industry to reach carbon peak and carbon neutrality is the progress of low-carbon technology, and the core is technological innovation, technological breakthrough and technological promotion. However, for most iron and steel enterprises, their own research and development strength is limited and their own potential tapping space is limited. It is suggested to strengthen the research and development of low-carbon technology and promote the steel industry to better save energy and reduce carbon. Among them, the most effective and direct carbon reduction measures are to optimize the efficiency of energy use, improve the space for using waste heat and energy to generate electricity to reduce costs and reduce carbon emissions, and increase the spontaneous electricity consumption of steel enterprises. At the same time, it is suggested to develop new technologies in low carbon smelting technology, low carbon optimization of process flow, comprehensive utilization of energy cycle and other aspects, accelerate the green and low carbon development of steel industry, and truly achieve coordinated pollution reduction and carbon reduction.
