India tests domestically produced tank engines for the first time

According to the Rossiyskaya Gazeta website on March 22, it was reported by the Times of India that India BEML Company had conducted the first test of the domestic tank engine, which has a power of 1500 horsepower. Indian Defense Secretary Gilidar Alamane visited the testing site and said, "This achievement proves that India has opened a new era of defense capabilities. It also demonstrates India's skills and willingness to pursue independence and autonomy in the field of defense technology." According to the report, BEML announced that its developed engines have the most suitable power to weight ratio. It is reported that the engine can operate under extreme conditions such as high temperature, severe cold, and high altitude. India has implemented plans to develop engines for domestically produced tanks from 2020 to 2025. BEML is a technology company under the Indian Ministry of Defense, playing an important role in providing services to sectors such as defense, railways, electricity, and mining in India.
