2024-05-01

According to the China Manned Space Engineering Office, at 17:46 Beijing time on April 30, 2024, the return capsule of the Shenzhou-17 manned spacecraft successfully landed at the Dongfeng landing site. Medical supervision and insurance personnel on site confirmed that astronauts Tang Hongbo, Tang Shengjie, and Jiang Xinlin were in good physical condition, and the Shenzhou-17 manned flight mission was a complete success. At 16:56, the Beijing Aerospace Flight Control Center issued a return command through the ground measurement and control station, and the Shenzhou-17 manned spacecraft's orbital module and return module were successfully separated. Afterwards, the spacecraft returned to the braking engine and ignited, separating the propulsion module from the return module. The return module successfully landed, and the search and rescue team responsible for the search and recovery mission promptly discovered the target and arrived at the landing site. After the return cabin door was opened, medical supervision and insurance personnel confirmed the astronaut's physical health. The Shenzhou-17 manned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on October 26, 2023, and then docked with the Tianhe core module to form a composite body. Three astronauts flew in orbit for 187 days, during which they carried out 2 extravehicular activities and cooperated to complete multiple cargo extravehicular tasks of the space station. They also carried out various tasks such as installation, debugging, maintenance, and repair of equipment inside and outside the spacecraft. For the first time, they completed maintenance tasks for extravehicular facilities of spacecraft in orbit, accumulating valuable data and experience for the long-term stable operation of the space station in orbit; At the same time, with close cooperation from ground researchers, a large number of space science experiments have been completed in fields such as microgravity basic physics, space materials science, space life science, aerospace medicine, and aerospace technology.
