From March 18th to 21st, a delegation from the courts of the Macao Special Administrative Region visited the Mainland People's Court of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Yang Wanming, a second level national judge and Vice President of the Supreme People's Court, met with the delegation led by the President of the Macau Court of Final Appeal, Cen Haohui, and had discussions and exchanges. Accompanied by Zhang Haibo, a national second level judge and the President of the Guangdong Provincial High People's Court. Yang Wanming first conveyed the welcome of Zhang Jun, the President of the Supreme People's Court, to the delegation and introduced the main achievements and important significance of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference to the delegation. The goal is to create a first-class legal business environment, with promoting the connection of litigation rules between Guangdong and Macao as the starting point, and continuously expanding new areas of judicial exchange and cooperation under the background of "one country, two systems", so as to make the foundation and quality of legal protection in the Greater Bay Area brighter and more sufficient, and make new and greater contributions to the comprehensive promotion of the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Cen Haohui expressed gratitude to the Supreme People's Court and the Guangdong Court for their long-term support of the work of the courts in Macau. He stated that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macau's return to the motherland. The courts of Macau will work together with mainland courts to carry out deeper and broader exchanges and interactions in areas such as rule connection, judicial assistance, and personnel training. They will coordinate and promote the judicial service guarantee work in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area from a higher perspective and with more practical measures, and effectively explore a new path of judicial cooperation under the background of "one country, two systems, and three jurisdictions". During their stay in Guangdong, the Macau court delegation held a special symposium at the Guangdong Provincial High People's Court, visiting the First Circuit Court of the Supreme People's Court (the First International Commercial Court), as well as courts in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Jiangmen and other places. They discussed and exchanged ideas with mainland judges on simplifying judicial assistance procedures, learning from litigation rules, and expanding channels for legal investigation. (Lai Xin She)
