The pure electric full size humanoid robot will "run"

2024-04-29

Height 163 centimeters, weight 45 kilograms, capable of carrying 5 kilograms of heavy objects, running at a speed of 6 kilometers per hour, and able to pass obstacles in a blind state... On April 27, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center released the humanoid robot mother platform "Tiangong" at the 2024 Zhongguancun International Technology Trade Conference high-precision and cutting-edge technology product launch event, which is the world's first pure electric driven full-size humanoid robot to "run". This special event is part of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum. Xiong Youjun, General Manager of Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, introduced that "Tiangong" is equipped with multiple visual perception sensors, with a computing power of 550 trillion times per second, and can run steadily for 6 kilometers per hour. In blind situations, "Tiangong" can smoothly pass through slopes and stairs, and can quickly adjust their gait when encountering bumps, short steps, and other situations. Humanoid robots integrate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, high-end manufacturing, and new materials, and are expected to become disruptive products after computers, smartphones, and new energy vehicles, transforming human production and lifestyle, and reshaping the global industrial development pattern. Related research shows that by 2035, the global market size of humanoid robots will reach 38 billion US dollars, with a shipment volume of 1.4 million units. "On the one hand, the existing body structure of robots does not consider the spinal configuration of humans or animals, and lacks flexibility in completing crawling, climbing, and other aspects. On the other hand, traditional motion control algorithms are difficult to achieve stable motion of robots, and decision planning based on large models is not yet mature. For most humanoid robots, the task success rate needs to be improved." said Professor Sun Fuchun, Director of the Intelligent Robotics Center at Tsinghua University's Institute of Artificial Intelligence. Currently, the humanoid robot industry is a key area to seize the opportunities of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and also an important lever to achieve high-quality development. Teng Zhizhi, Deputy General Manager of Jingcheng Electromechanical, revealed that in the next step, Beijing will focus on typical applications of embodied intelligence, technical standards, and core components, improve the industrial chain layout, and build a strong ecosystem of humanoid robots.
