Attention! Never play with your phone while walking

Recently, a woman in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province injured her hip bone while walking while stepping on her phone, which has attracted the attention of netizens. Nowadays, mobile phones have become an indispensable part of daily life, accompanying people anytime, anywhere. However, more and more people are starting to look at their phones while walking, becoming the "head down tribe" on the road. This behavior not only poses a hidden danger to one's own health, but also increases the risk of road traffic safety. Or it can harm the health of the eyes and spine. Walking or watching a mobile phone can first cause harm to the body's health in the eyes. Professor Zhu Siquan from Capital Medical University said that when looking at a mobile phone, the eyes should maintain a certain distance from the phone screen. It is generally recommended to use around 50 centimeters. If it exceeds 70 centimeters or is less than 30 centimeters, the eyes need to adjust their muscles to see the screen clearly, which can easily cause visual fatigue. When walking, the body moves and the gaze keeps shaking. When walking normally and looking into the distance, this feeling is not strong. Once the eyes are focused on a small mobile phone screen, even slight eye movement can cause significant discomfort. In addition, the constantly changing distance between the mobile phone screen and the eyes can lead to long-term and high-frequency adjustment of the eye muscles, which is more likely to induce visual fatigue. Zhu Siquan said that not only walking, exercising, and using mobile phones while taking transportation can also cause eye muscle fatigue, which can easily lead to vision loss over time. In the correct walking posture, a person should have their eyes facing straight ahead, their chin slightly extended, their chest raised, their abdomen slightly contracted, their buttocks raised, and their shoulders slightly extended backwards. When looking at a phone, in order to reduce arm pressure, the head unconsciously lowers, the shoulders cannot stretch, and hunchback occurs. This posture will put pressure on the cervical spine, causing high tension in the neck and upper back muscles. Not only that, if you look down at your phone while walking for a long time, it may also cause changes in the normal physiological curvature of the spine. The muscles, ligaments, and soft tissues in this area are in a rigid state for a long time, which can easily trigger myofasciitis. Once the spine undergoes deformation, in order to support the head, the neck, shoulders, and waist must withstand greater pressure, further inducing related area lesions. Using technological means to regulate not only endangers physical health, but also significantly increases the risk of road traffic accidents when walking while using mobile phones. Researchers from the University of Tokyo once conducted an experiment. They recruited 27 experimental participants and simulated real scenes of two-way walking on the road. Among them, some participants focused on walking on the road, while in another group of participants, the researchers arranged for three pedestrians playing with mobile phones. To further investigate the impact of playing with mobile phones on walking teams, researchers specifically placed these three participants in the front, middle, and back of the team to observe their specific impact on the entire team. In daily life, when people walk on the road and face oncoming pedestrians, they will subconsciously observe the other person's eyes and actions, predict their direction of travel, consciously adjust their pace, ensure smooth passage, and avoid collisions. This kind of tacit understanding between groups may seem simple, but in fact, it is very knowledgeable. For example, birds and fish can often be seen moving in specific formations, which not only helps them keep up with the formation but also effectively avoids collisions with each other. Therefore, as long as you focus on walking without distracting your attention, the smoothness and efficiency of traffic can be significantly improved
