Multiple departments have issued notices to launch the 2024 Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law Propaganda Week activity

The reporter learned from the National Health Commission today that in order to further promote the implementation of the main responsibility of employers for occupational disease prevention and control, improve the level of occupational health literacy of workers, and effectively protect the occupational health rights and interests of workers, the National Health Commission, Ministry of Civil Affairs, National Medical Security Bureau and other departments have issued a notice on carrying out the 2024 Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law Propaganda Week. It has been decided to hold the 22nd National Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law Propaganda Week from April 25 to May 1. The notice requires all regions to organize and carry out propaganda week activities around the theme of "prevention first, safeguarding occupational health", combined with actual situations, to provide strong impetus for achieving the goals and tasks of the "14th Five Year Plan" for occupational disease prevention and control. The notice emphasizes the need to focus on three actions: expanding the application scope of occupational disease hazard projects, providing occupational health assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises, and improving the quality and compliance of occupational disease prevention and control institutions. We will further implement the prevention oriented policy, deeply promote and interpret relevant laws and regulations such as the Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Law and the Basic Medical and Health Promotion Law to employers and occupational disease prevention and control institutions. We will strive to promote employers to declare and strictly control occupational disease hazard factors in accordance with the law, adopt comprehensive governance measures to improve the working environment and working conditions, assist small and medium-sized enterprises in implementing the main responsibility of occupational disease prevention and control, promote the improvement of service quality and capacity of occupational disease prevention and control institutions, and promote occupational health work to a new level and a new level.
