More than 10 calligraphers and painters from Macau and mainland China recently visited the People's Liberation Army stationed in Macau. After visiting the military exhibition hall, they collaborated with officers and soldiers to create calligraphy and painting works around the 25th anniversary of the PLA's entry into Macau, military training and preparation, defense duties, and love for the people of Macau. "This is my fourth time visiting the troops stationed in Macau, and I also exchange painting experiences with the officers and soldiers. It feels very friendly, like going home." Guan Quanchang, the president of the Macau Chinese Culture and Art Society, told reporters that the troops stationed in Macau have always been the "God of the Sea" to maintain the prosperity and stability of Macau, and have also established deep friendship and feelings with Macao compatriots. "Having face-to-face communication with so many well-known calligraphers and painters is a rare opportunity, and the harvest is also great." Zhao Xiahan, a private of a certain team, had a good foundation in calligraphy before enlisting. She actively signed up for the activity this time and sought advice and learning from the calligraphers and painters who came to camp. "Calligraphy and painting are the essence of China's excellent traditional culture. Many officers and soldiers have related hobbies and expertise, and we are also actively creating corresponding conditions and opportunities." According to the person in charge of the Political Work Department of the PLA Macao Garrison, this invitation to Macao and mainland calligraphers and painters to the military camp is to further inherit and carry forward traditional culture and build a strong military culture with garrison characteristics while enhancing military local friendship. It is reported that in recent years, on the basis of extensive mass cultural activities, the troops stationed in Macau have normalized cultural friendship activities with various sectors of Macau, enriched the cultural life of officers and soldiers, and continuously enhanced their friendship with Macao compatriots.
