On the 21st, it was learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that according to preliminary calculations, China's marine GDP accounted for 7.9% of the gross domestic product in 2023, reaching 990.97 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0% from the previous year and 0.8 percentage points higher than the growth rate of the national economy. The marine economy has shown a simultaneous improvement in both quantity and quality. Cui Xiaojian, Deputy Director of the National Marine Information Center, introduced that in 2023, the added value of the marine manufacturing industry reached 2986.1 billion yuan, an increase of 7.0% compared to the previous year, which is 2 percentage points higher than the growth rate of the national manufacturing industry. Among them, the added value of the marine shipbuilding industry was 115 billion yuan, an increase of 17.6% compared to the previous year. The development of high-end, intelligent, and green shipbuilding has been solidly promoted, and it has entered a new era of full spectrum product development. The marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry has developed well, and its international market share continues to maintain a global lead. It achieved an added value of 87.2 billion yuan throughout the year, an increase of 5.9% compared to the previous year. The domestic and international markets have strong demand for chemical products in China, with increased production and sales. The added value of the marine chemical industry is 434.3 billion yuan, an increase of 10.0% compared to the previous year. In 2023, the added value of the marine service industry reached 5896.8 billion yuan, accounting for 4.7% of the gross domestic product, driving national economic growth by 0.3 percentage points and contributing to national economic growth. The contact and aggregation service industries have recovered rapidly, with an added value of 762.3 billion yuan in the marine transportation industry, an increase of 8.5% compared to the previous year, and a cargo throughput of nearly 11 billion tons in coastal ports. The added value of marine tourism industry is 1473.5 billion yuan, an increase of 10.0% compared to the previous year. The demand for tourism among residents has been released, and multiple cruise ports have achieved the resumption of cruise ships. It is reported that in 2023, the supply capacity of marine energy, food, and water resources has also shown a steady improvement trend. Firstly, significant achievements have been made in increasing the storage and production of offshore oil and gas. New discoveries have been made in the exploration of the 2.6-60 billion ton oil fields in the Bohai Sea. The production of offshore crude oil and natural gas has increased by 5.8% and 9.1% year-on-year, respectively. The increase in offshore crude oil production has accounted for more than 60% of the total increase in national crude oil for four consecutive years, becoming a key increment in energy production. The year-on-year growth of offshore wind power generation has exceeded 17%, providing strong support for ensuring national energy security; The second is to accelerate the promotion of deep sea aquaculture, continuously improve the supply capacity of high-quality marine products, and produce over 35 million tons of marine aquatic products, a year-on-year increase of nearly 3%. The number of national marine ranch demonstration zones has reached 169, an increase of 16 compared to 2022. New progress has been made in the manufacturing and operation of deep sea aquaculture equipment in coastal areas; Thirdly, the scale of seawater desalination projects continues to expand, and the large-scale utilization of seawater desalination is actively promoted. Seawater desalination projects in Tianjin, Shandong, Zhejiang and other places are steadily advancing, with the scale of ongoing and newly started projects exceeding 300000 tons per day. In terms of technological innovation, technological breakthroughs have accelerated the emergence of new driving forces for industrial development. In 2023, the megawatt level tidal power generation unit "Fenjin" operated continuously for more than 20 months, with a cumulative power transmission of over 2.7 million kilowatt hours; The completion of sea trials of a 20 kW floating thermoelectric power generation device marks a crucial step towards the large-scale application of China's marine thermoelectric development and utilization in the sea; The first independently developed megawatt level wave power generation device in China, the "Nankun", has successfully undergone sea trials; Global maximum power of 20 MW semi direct drive permanent magnet wind power generation
