On the 21st, the China Association of Aging released typical cases of protecting the rights and interests of the elderly in China for the year 2023 in Beijing. In order to further promote the protection of the rights and interests of the elderly and create a friendly legal environment for the elderly, the China Association of Aging and the China Judicial Big Data Research Institute conducted a national study on cases involving the elderly in 2023, and publicly solicited typical cases from courts, research institutes, law firms and other units at all levels. After expert recommendations, 10 typical cases were selected for publication. With the increasing number of elderly people, the number of elderly related cases is on the rise, and the risks of litigation for elderly people in areas such as private loans, traffic accidents, marriage and family disputes, and labor contract disputes are still relatively high. The typical cases released in 2023 include civil cases related to aging rehabilitation, elderly reemployment, and seeking the right to visit grandchildren, as well as cases that infringe on the personal information security of elderly people, which have certain typicality and representativeness. The release of typical cases of protecting the rights and interests of the elderly aims to guide the elderly to enhance their awareness of risk prevention and ability to protect their rights. This is of great significance for strengthening education on the national conditions of aging population, promoting the establishment of sound policies and regulations that are suitable for an aging society, vigorously promoting the traditional virtues of filial piety and respect for the elderly in the Chinese nation, and further enhancing the sense of gain, happiness, and security of the elderly.
