The first major scientific device in China's aerospace field has officially launched! Can simulate space environment for experiments on the ground

On February 27th, the National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure Project of "Space Environment Ground Simulation Device" jointly built by Harbin Institute of Technology and China Aerospace Science and Technology Group officially passed the national acceptance. This is the first large-scale scientific device in China's aerospace field, which can comprehensively simulate nine types of space environmental factors, including low temperature, real space, and electromagnetic radiation. It is also known as the "Ground Space Station". The National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure Project of "Space Environment Ground Simulation Device" focuses on major fundamental scientific and technological issues in the aerospace field, constructs China's first large-scale research base in the field of space comprehensive environment and spacecraft, life forms, and plasma interactions, and forms an internationally leading space environment coupling effect experimental research platform. Compared to moving experimental instruments and equipment into space, a ground space station can not only save costs and reduce safety hazards, but also set specific environmental factors according to scientific issues and engineering needs, without being limited by time and space for multiple repeated verifications, thus creating safer and more convenient experimental conditions and research methods. It is understood that the "Space Environment Ground Simulation Device" has been under development since 2005 and has been officially accepted for 18 years. Since its trial operation last year, it has served multiple domestic and foreign user units, supported the research and development of multiple aerospace electronic components in China, and implemented a series of major national aerospace missions, achieving multiple landmark results. The acceptance committee believes that this project has broken through a series of key technologies in the field of space environment simulation and its interaction with matter.
