The Navy's Nanchang ship entered service in January 2020, with hull number 101. It is the first ship of China's self-developed Type 055 missile destroyer and a typical representative of the Navy's new combat capabilities. During the naval parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Navy, the ship, as a leading surface vessel, was honorably inspected by President . The ship party committee was commended by the Navy party committee as an "advanced grassroots party organization striving for the new era", and the Nanchang ship was commended as a "model unit for the whole army to practice the goal of building a strong military", and was awarded second class merit once. The advanced deeds of the Nanchang Ship Party Committee, after being publicized and reported, have sparked a warm response throughout society. Party members, cadres, and young students believe that the Nanchang Ship Party Committee is an excellent representative of focusing on the generation of new domain and new quality combat capabilities, continuously enhancing the quality and effectiveness of Party organization leadership in preparing for war, and is a strong fighting collective that strives for deep blue and loyalty. At the release ceremony of the "Role Model of the Times", the decision of the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China to award the title of "Role Model of the Times" to the Party Committee of the Navy Nanchang Ship was read out, and a short film reflecting the advanced deeds of the Party Committee of the ship was played. The responsible comrade of the Central Propaganda Department presented the "Role Model of the Times" medal and certificate to the group representatives.
