Recently, the 2025 National Half Marathon Championship (1st stop) and the 8th Meishan Renshou Half Marathon kicked off in Renshou County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, with 25000 runners from around the world participating. The Renshou Half Marathon was founded in 2017 and was promoted to the World Association of Athletics Federations White Gold Label event in 2025. It is the third World Association of Athletics Federations White Gold Label event in China after the Shanghai Marathon and Xiamen Marathon. The Renshou Half Marathon, which has 25000 participation spots this year, has attracted over 150000 registrations from more than 20 countries and regions both domestically and internationally. How can a half marathon event held in Renshou County, a western county, "run" out of the World Association of Athletics Federations White Gold Label? In the words of the leaders of Renshou County Committee, "This is not only the result of the continuous pursuit of excellence and improvement of one's own quality in sports event work throughout the county, but also an important achievement of the county committee and government in promoting national fitness, promoting the integrated development of sports tourism, and showcasing external image." In recent years, the concept of health has received increasing attention, and running and fitness have become popular sports projects. To this end, Renshou focuses on the annual high-quality half marathon event, accelerates the filling of the shortcomings of national fitness facilities, improves the public service system for national fitness, carefully organizes and plans high-quality events that run through all seasons, cover the whole area, and are suitable for the masses to participate in, and builds a good pattern of national sports and fitness, making the concept of "healthy sports, happy sports, and happy sports" deeply rooted in people's hearts. At present, Renshou County has built 15 sports parks, which are equipped with tennis courts, basketball courts, football fields, fitness trails and other sports venues, serving about 2 million people annually. At the same time, Renshou County fully utilizes scattered and corner plots of land, reasonably plans space, builds small fitness plazas and pocket parks, equips fitness equipment, and creates a "15 minute fitness circle", allowing the entire county's population to exercise "within walking distance".
