The Spring Festival holiday is often a high-risk period for cardiovascular diseases. Experts remind that elderly people, those with a family history of cardiovascular disease, and chronic disease patients should pay attention to the risk of cardiovascular disease, pay attention to healthy diet and daily routines, maintain emotional stability, and avoid excessive drinking and fatigue. Zhang Lihui, chief physician of Shanxi Cardiovascular Hospital, said that during the Spring Festival, people are prone to consuming too much high-fat, high salt, and high sugar food, which leads to elevated blood lipids and blood pressure, increasing the burden on the heart and blood vessels. Meanwhile, holidays often come with changes in lifestyle habits, which can easily affect the normal rhythm of the heart; Family reunions and visits to relatives and friends can easily cause emotional fluctuations, leading to increased blood pressure and heart rate; In addition, the lower temperature in winter and the larger temperature difference between indoors and outdoors also increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Zhang Lihui suggests that people with a history of cardiovascular disease should control their total food intake, avoid overeating, increase their intake of vegetables and fruits, and eat less fried foods, animal organs, etc. Moderate walking and other activities can be done after meals to accelerate fat metabolism through exercise. Reasonably arrange holiday activities, leave enough rest time, and avoid excessive fatigue or being overwhelmed by too many social activities. Experts say that emotions have a significant impact on cardiovascular disease, and it is especially important to maintain emotional stability during the lively atmosphere of the Spring Festival. Always pay attention to your emotional state, and consciously remind yourself to stay calm when you feel your emotions start to rise or anxious. Zhang Lihui said that you can relax your body and mind by adjusting your breathing, finding a quiet space to be alone for a while, listening to soothing music, and other ways. Understanding some first aid knowledge at home is crucial. Zhang Lihui reminds that if patients suddenly develop cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, they may experience symptoms such as chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe headache, dizziness, vomiting, consciousness disorders, limb numbness or paralysis. They should immediately call the emergency hotline 120 and be taken to the hospital as soon as possible under the treatment and escort of professional doctors. During the process of waiting for emergency personnel to arrive, the patient should be kept lying flat and resting, with their head slightly elevated and tilted to one side to ensure indoor air circulation. If the patient loses consciousness, a stable lateral position should be adopted to prevent vomiting and suffocation. If the patient experiences cardiac and respiratory arrest, immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be performed and continued until emergency personnel arrive. (New Society)
