Yesterday, a reporter from Beijing Youth Daily learned from the Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau that in order to further meet the needs of the people for convenient medical services and facilitate the use of personal medical insurance accounts by insured individuals in the city to purchase drugs online, the bureau is organizing testing of over-the-counter drug online payment systems on two drug purchasing platforms, JD.com and Meituan. The Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau stated that it aims to officially provide services to insured individuals after connecting to more than 200 designated retail pharmacies under medical insurance on July 1, 2024. This means that insured individuals can use their personal medical insurance account to make payments when purchasing over-the-counter drugs on the aforementioned two platforms. It is reported that there are currently more than 1400 designated retail pharmacies for medical insurance in this city, with the first connected pharmacies mainly being chain pharmacies.
