In response to this matter, the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center has issued an authoritative statement stating that the carcinogenic risk of carcinogens is usually determined by two factors: carcinogenic ability and exposure level. Aspartame is classified as a Class 2B carcinogen, indicating that the scientific evidence for its carcinogenicity in humans is not yet sufficient and further research is needed to confirm its efficacy. Li Ning, Director of the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center, introduced that the evaluation results of the center show that the intake of aspartame in China is close to that of people in multiple countries and regions around the world, far lower than the daily allowable intake commonly used internationally. It is safe to use it according to current regulations. According to publicly available coffee data, Chinese consumers consumed a total of 288000 tons of coffee in 2022, ranking 7th in the world, with a year-on-year increase of 14.29%, which is 31 times the global growth rate. Caffeine also has a certain effect on emotional regulation, and can enhance energy and attention in different situations, promote energy expenditure, and improve exercise performance. However, long-term excessive intake of caffeine may cause some adverse reactions, such as palpitations, palpitations, accelerated heartbeat, irritability, anxiety, nausea and vomiting, and other gastrointestinal symptoms. Chang Cuiqing stated that based on current research evidence, healthy adults can consume natural caffeine drinks in moderation daily, such as 2-3 cups of coffee per day.
