As agreed by both China and Europe, the 24th China EU Leaders' Meeting will be held in Beijing on December 7th. Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin, stated at a regular press conference on the 4th that China looks forward to the important role of the leaders' meeting in bridging the past and opening up the future, and providing strategic guidance for the sustained and healthy development of China Europe relations. Wang Wenbin stated that the China EU Leaders Meeting is an annual meeting mechanism for leaders of both sides, playing an important strategic leading role in the development of China Europe relations. This meeting coincides with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Europe and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the China Europe Leaders Meeting mechanism, attracting widespread attention from all sectors of China and the international community. The leaders of both sides will have in-depth exchanges on directional, strategic issues, and global issues of common concern in China Europe relations, in order to plan a blueprint for the development of China Europe relations, determine priorities, and inject momentum. He said that currently, the century long changes are accelerating, the international situation is intensifying and turbulent, the world economy lacks momentum, global challenges are emerging, and China Europe relations are also facing new opportunities and challenges. Wang Wenbin said that China and Europe are partners, not rivals, and their common interests far outweigh their differences.
