Reported by Yang Xin and journalist Wang Lingshuo: On the noon of November 30th, the delegation of manned space engineering attended a welcome luncheon held by the Hong Kong research and education community. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on further promoting Hong Kong's wider and deeper participation in the follow-up construction of manned space engineering and promoting Hong Kong's scientific and technological innovation and development. At the welcome lunch, Lin Xiqiang, Deputy Director of the China Manned Space Engineering Office and Head of the Delegation, expressed gratitude to the Hong Kong scientific and educational community for their long-term support of manned space engineering. He stated that the Hong Kong science and education community has made positive contributions, from conducting award-winning experiments in the Hong Kong High School Space Technology Design Competition on the Tiangong-2 spacecraft, to setting up Hong Kong ground classrooms for space teaching on the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft, organizing activities such as "Looking up at the Starry Sky and Talking to the Tiangong" and "New Year's Day Dialogue between Beijing, Hong Kong, and Macao Tiangong", to the first selection of payload experts by the fourth batch of reserve astronauts for the Hong Kong and Macao regions. In the future, with the deepening development of manned spaceflight, Hong Kong will have more opportunities and platforms to participate in the country's space industry. The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Sun Dong, stated that the fourth batch of reserve astronauts selected payload experts in Hong Kong for the first time, providing Hong Kong citizens with the opportunity to participate in the important mission of the national manned space project. This reflects the country's love and support for Hong Kong, as well as the importance and recognition of the Hong Kong scientific and technological community. Hong Kong has a strong foundation in basic scientific research and will continue to contribute to building a strong aerospace country by leveraging its strengths. (Lai Xin She)
