Zhang Jun, the permanent representative of China to the United Nations, said in his speech at the high level meeting on global road safety held at the 76th United Nations General Assembly on June 30 that the recent high level dialogue on global development would inject strong political momentum into the further implementation of the global development initiative. China looks forward to working with all parties to accelerate the implementation of the outcomes of the dialogue, spare no efforts to build demonstration projects, actively strive for early gains, and make greater contributions to the implementation of the 2030 agenda, unity and cooperation to meet challenges, and the construction of a global development community. The initiative takes connectivity, development financing and industrialization cooperation in the digital age as key areas, and will effectively promote practical cooperation among all parties in transportation infrastructure and other fields, so as to promote road safety and sustainable development. The United Nations is an important platform for promoting cooperation in global development initiatives. This year, China initiated the establishment of the "group of friends of the global development initiative" at the United Nations headquarters in New York, and successfully held a high-level video conference of the group.
