Hong Kong Immigration Department: visitors to Hong Kong fell 97.4% year-on-year in 2021

The Immigration Department (immd) of the HKSAR government released a review of its work in 2021 on the 27th. Statistics show that in 2021, about 90000 visitors entered Hong Kong, a year-on-year decrease of 97.4%. Statistics show that the Immigration Department recorded a total of 1.95 million inbound and outbound passengers in 2021, down 91.9% from 2020. Among the visitors to Hong Kong in 2021, the number of mainland visitors was about 66000, down 97.6% from 2020, and the number of other visitors was about 26000, down 97.1% from 2020. Among the inbound passengers in 2021, there were about 21000 passengers at airport control points, 60000 at land control points and 9000 at sea control points. It is reported that in promoting the reconstruction of Huanggang port, the goal of Hong Kong and Shenzhen is to complete the main project of xinhuanggang port as early as the end of 2023.
