Over the past five years, the total economic output of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area has grown by 3.2 trillion yuan, surpassing 14 trillion yuan in 2023, making it one of the regions with the highest degree of openness and the strongest economic vitality in China. Data shows that the number of inbound and outbound passengers passing through the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge officially exceeded 10 million on May 21 this year, a year-on-year increase of 127.7%, four months ahead of 2023, setting a new record for the fastest time since the bridge was opened. The construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, with one country, two systems, three currencies, and three tariff zones, has no precedent internationally.
