Construction of Tunisian Photovoltaic Project by Chinese Enterprises Starts

The construction of the 100 MW Kairouan photovoltaic power station in Tunisia, undertaken by a Chinese company, held a groundbreaking ceremony in Kairouan Province on the 8th. This is currently the largest photovoltaic power station project under construction in Tunisia. The project is located in Kerouan Province, central Tunisia, and is a joint venture between China Energy Construction Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (Tianjin Electric Power) and China Electric Power Engineering Consulting Group Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. responsible for design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance. On May 8th, in Kerouan Province, Tunisia, two workers demonstrated the installation of solar photovoltaic panels. Xu Zhiyong, the manager of Tianjin Electric Power responsible for the project, told reporters that the project is expected to cultivate a large number of new energy construction and construction talents in the local area, and also help introduce advanced new energy technologies and products from China to Tunisia. According to Wang Wenhai, the project manager of Northwest Electric Power Design Institute, the project can operate for 25 years and will generate 5.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
