Macau International Communication Week Opening Focus on Digital Paradigm

The 10th Macau International Communication Week opened on the 8th at the Macau University of Science and Technology. The theme of this year's Communication Week is "Digital Paradigm", which will explore urban public spaces, cultural production, and human perception in the digital context. Li Xingwei, President of Macau University of Science and Technology, stated in his opening speech that the rapid development of digital technology has not only changed people's living habits and communication methods, but also had a profound impact on the development of Macau society and culture. One of the main objectives of this International Communication Week is to explore the impact of digital paradigms on Macau's society, culture, and communication, and to reflect on Macau's positioning and future development in the context of globalization. After the opening ceremony, the "Macao Shanghai Dual City Digital Communication Power Index" was released, which is a landmark project of collaborative research between the Macau Media Research Center of the University of Macau and the Information and Communication Research Center of Fudan University. The project focuses on the digital communication status of citizens in Macau and Shanghai in areas such as digital consumption, digital communication, and digital health, showcasing the similarities and differences in their sense of digital well-being, and providing reference for better achieving digital city communication. The launch ceremony of the "25th Anniversary Series of Integrated Media International Communication Projects of Macao's Return to the Motherland" was also held on the same occasion. This project is jointly planned and launched by Jiangsu Provincial Radio and Television Station and Macao University of Science and Technology, showcasing the achievements of economic and trade cooperation between Macao and Jiangsu in all aspects, vividly demonstrating the tremendous achievements made by Macao in the 25 years since its return to the motherland. This Communication Week is jointly organized by the School of Humanities and Arts at the University of Macau, the Information and Communication Research Center at Fudan University, and Jiangsu Provincial Radio and Television Station.
