On May 4th, the reporter learned that the Sea Eagle AI system jointly developed by China Water Group Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Water Group) and Shanghai Ocean University has recently been officially released. This is the first intelligent tuna fishing forecast system in China. China's tuna fishery started late. Compared with developed fishing countries, China has weaker awareness and development capabilities of related resources, resulting in lower fishing efficiency. To change this situation, Zhongshui Group, in collaboration with Shanghai Ocean University, has applied new technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data to successfully develop the Seahawk AI system, utilizing tuna fishery data and global marine environment data spanning up to 70 years. "The Seahawk AI system can provide more than 20 kinds of information about marine ecological environment elements, such as real-time pressure, wind field, and waves." Chen Xinjun, dean of the School of Marine Biological Resources and Management of Shanghai Ocean University, introduced that the system combines tuna biology, ecology, fishery science and other characteristic knowledge, and uses big data mining and in-depth learning technology to realize the forecast of tuna center fishery and medium and long-term resource prediction, which is conducive to promoting scientific production and management of tuna fishery. Chen Xinjun introduced that the Haiying AI system can also monitor the position of fishing vessels, provide boundary warning and collision avoidance warning, and automatically send emails for transit reporting based on the position and navigation route, avoiding unnecessary disputes. The system can automatically release operational sea area environmental information, ship position information, and fishing forecast information in the form of a "single map" on a regular basis every day, providing assistance for frontline production and company management. At present, the Seahawk AI system has been applied to all tuna fishing vessels of China Water Group. "In 2023, the system has been tested on the company's Atlantic fleet. From the perspective of tuna fishing efficiency, the single vessel fishing volume has increased by 13.8%." Liang Yong, Deputy General Manager of China Water Group, introduced that the promotion and application of the Sea Eagle AI system in production operations has greatly improved fishing efficiency.
