The opening ceremony of the Shanghai International Arbitration (Hong Kong) Center was held in Hong Kong on the 5th. Zhang Guojun, Deputy Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that this is the first arbitration center established by the Shanghai International Arbitration Center outside the mainland, which will undoubtedly enhance Hong Kong's high-end arbitration services and consolidate its position in the international legal and dispute resolution services in the Asia Pacific region. Hong Kong will continue to leverage its unique advantages of relying on its motherland and connecting with the world, actively seize the huge opportunities brought by the country's development of new productive forces, and work together with Shanghai and Hong Kong to promote the country's rule of law construction. The Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC) was established in 1988 and is committed to providing professional and efficient dispute resolution services to domestic and foreign commercial participants. Since the signing of the Legal Service Cooperation Agreement between the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Shanghai Judicial Bureau in 2003, Shanghai and Hong Kong have achieved good results in legal cooperation and exchange.
