2024-05-06

A fashion show with the theme of "Coastal Utopia" was held on the 3rd at Tak Kun Plaza, Hong Kong's Hong Kong Academy of Sciences. The fashion show is set against the backdrop of coral, gravel, and seawater, and is divided into two parts: upper and lower. Firstly, using fashion as a carrier, it vividly showcases the idyllic scenery along the coast of Hong Kong today. Then, through artistic means, it showcases the consequences of human overconsumption, with a strong contrast. Miao Qijia, the chief planner and director of the fashion show, introduced that the current linear system of "acquisition, manufacturing, and waste" in the fashion industry is unsustainable. This fashion show aims to highlight the core issue of circular fashion through innovative and exaggerated artistic expression techniques, using more than 50 sets of clothing to stimulate audience thinking. Ms. Da, the audience, said that the fashion show has content and soul, which is refreshing. This fashion show, from topic selection, creative design to selection and use of models, was entirely led by students from the High School Department of Hongli Academy. In addition to fashion design, fashion shows also incorporate visual art and music elements, showcasing the creativity of students and allowing them to showcase themselves on the runway.
