On April 27, the border inspection station of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge announced that since the opening of the bridge in October 2018, as of 16:00 on April 27, 2024, the number of vehicles entering and exiting the Zhuhai Highway Port via the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has exceeded 10 million. According to the border inspection department, the traffic flow at the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has been showing a rapid growth trend. In 2019, the number of vehicles passing through ports reached 860000, and in 2022, it exceeded 1.6 million. In 2023, with the resumption of normal customs clearance in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and the implementation of the "Hong Kong vehicle northbound" and "Macao vehicle northbound" policies, the port traffic flow experienced an explosive growth, reaching 3.26 million vehicles, with a daily average of over 8900 vehicles. As of 16:00 on April 27th, there were over 1.58 million inbound and outbound vehicles passing through Zhuhai Port this year, a year-on-year increase of 113%, with a daily average of over 13600 vehicles and over 16100 vehicles on weekends and holidays. According to statistics, since the beginning of this year, the border inspection station of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has released 69900 inbound passengers on a daily basis, an increase of 56% compared to the daily inspection volume in 2023. The highest daily inspection volume was 144000. Among them, there were 495000 Hong Kong and Macau residents, accounting for 60.06% of the total population. In addition to accelerating the interconnection of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the role of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge in connecting domestic and international dual circulation is also increasingly prominent. Over the past five years, the cross-border logistics of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has experienced high growth, with a total of over 1.9107 million trucks entering and exiting through the Zhuhai Highway Port. Among them, this year it reached 184900 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of over 21.77%, which is 7.39 times that of 2019. In order to adapt to the new situation of the continuous increase in vehicles on the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, the border inspection department continues to innovate management in highly convenient customs clearance, actively promotes data sharing and sharing, simplifies border inspection filing procedures, and automatically shares registration information for drivers who have already completed the "one-stop" border inspection driver registration or passenger shortcut registration, achieving paperless and electronic border inspection filing process. At the same time, the border inspection system for 44 small car passages at Zhuhai Highway Port has been optimized and upgraded multiple times. Through innovative measures such as launching a "one click login" auxiliary control system, implementing a new mobile inspection mode, and canceling the driver card reading process, the inspection process has been continuously streamlined, increasing the maximum hourly traffic volume of single side small cars at the port from 440 to 1100.
