2024-04-12

On April 11th, Wang Shumei, a deputy ministerial level full-time member of the Judicial Committee of the Supreme People's Court and the presiding judge of the Third Circuit Court, conducted a special research on foreign-related, Hong Kong and Macao commercial trials in Zhuhai, Guangdong, and put forward specific requirements for accelerating the modernization of foreign-related trial work. Wang Shumei emphasized the need to adhere to a problem oriented approach, carefully analyze and judge the new situations and tasks faced by foreign-related trial work, identify shortcomings and weaknesses, and propose targeted solutions. We should take trial management as the starting point, fully leverage the role of performance evaluation as the "baton", deeply implement trial management measures such as data consultation and "review system", and integrate law enforcement and case handling with line guidance. We should take reform and innovation as the endogenous driving force, continuously optimize the foreign-related trial system and mechanism, promote the convenience of litigation in foreign-related Hong Kong and Macao cases, and provide fair, efficient and convenient judicial services for both domestic and foreign parties. We must keep in mind the importance of the country, consciously plan and promote foreign-related trials within the overall development of the Party and the state, continuously deepen the strategy of high-quality foreign-related trials, and promote social governance through the governance of litigation sources. Based on talents, we should accelerate the cultivation of a group of foreign-related judicial talents with firm political positions, excellent professional qualities, knowledge of international rules, and proficiency in foreign-related legal practice. Zhong Jianping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Vice President of the Higher People's Court of Guangdong Province, Zhu Zhengfu, National People's Congress representative, Chen Hongtian, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, leaders of the Fourth Civil Court of the Supreme People's Court and related comrades, as well as relevant comrades from the foreign-related trial divisions of various higher people's courts and some intermediate people's courts, participated in the research.
