During a meeting with the media before attending the executive meeting, Li Jiachao revealed that the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government had reached arrangements with three broadcasting institutions holding free television licenses, namely TVB, ViuTV, HOYTV, and Radio Hong Kong, to broadcast the Olympic and Paralympic Games on television. Li Jiachao said that the decision made by the Hong Kong SAR government to purchase the broadcasting rights for the Paris Olympics was due to the current market's insufficient support for television stations to make significant investments in purchasing broadcasting rights, as well as the social value brought by broadcasting the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. He believes that by broadcasting the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we can create a lively social atmosphere, promote sports activities, support athletes, unite, stimulate economic activities through a joyful social atmosphere, and work together to create social value. It is understood that as of last month, Hong Kong athletes from China have obtained 15 qualifications to participate in the Paris Olympics and 12 qualifications to participate in the Paris Paralympics.
