The performance ticket clearly indicates the screenwriter, director, as well as the address, date, time, ticket price, and other information of the performance of "Assault", and is currently available at the Yisu She Theater in Xi'an. The Northwest Field Service Corps is a comprehensive anti Japanese cultural and propaganda organization organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, abbreviated as the "Western War Corps". After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan in July 1937, according to the instructions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Western Front Corps was established in Yan'an in August 1937, mainly consisting of some students from the Fourth Brigade of the Second Phase of the Anti Japanese Military and Political University, with Ding Ling as the director. Before the establishment of the Western War Corps, Mao Zedong had several conversations with Ding Ling, saying, "This job is very important and good for you. Going forward can get close to the army, get close to the masses, promote the Party's policies, and expand the Party's influence. In terms of propaganda, you should be popular and popular among the masses. Whether it's new bottles of wine or old bottles of new wine, they should be short and concise, suitable for the war environment, and loved by the people. You should promote our Party's anti Japanese stance to the friendly army, expand the political influence of our Party and the army." On September 22, 1937, more than 40 members of the Western War Corps, holding red flags and singing anti Japanese songs, used seven heads. The little donkey, carrying luggage and performance supplies, marched confidently to the front line of Shanxi's anti Japanese campaign. In early March 1938, the Western Theater Command was ordered by the headquarters of the 18th Group Army to travel from the front line of Shanxi to Xi'an, Shaanxi to promote the Communist Party's anti Japanese stance and the victory news of the Eighth Route Army. At the same time, they prepared to stage a multi act play called "Assault" that reflected the unity of the military and civilians in the front line of Shanxi. The script of "Assault" was co written and directed by Sack, who had previously worked in drama at Nanguo Society, as well as writers Xiao Hong, Duanmu Hongliang, Nie Gannu, and others. The actor character design for "Assault" invited the famous Shaanxi playwright Zuo Ming to design, guide, and demonstrate. Zuo Ming also suggested inviting Zhu Xingnan from Xi'an Zhengsheng Drama Society to be responsible for the stage design work of "Assault". Ding Ling personally took the initiative to meet with Gao Peizhi, the director of Yisu Society, and discussed renting the Yisu Society Theater as the stage for the performance of "Assault". On March 16, 1938, "Assault" began to be performed in Yisu Society. At that time, it was planned to be performed for three days, with two performances per day. The performance time was 3:00 pm on the day and 7:30 pm on the night. But before the performance, due to a large number of tickets sold, I was worried that the theater would be crowded during the performance, so I changed it to a five-day performance, which lasted until March 20th. On the last day, there was also an additional morning performance, which was held at 10am, providing free entertainment for military personnel. In this way, "Assault" was performed for six days and 11 times in Xi'an. The public performance of "Raid" caused a sensation in the ancient city of Xi'an. Xi'an's New Qin Evening News reported that "the whole play was full of tense air from beginning to end, so it won a warm welcome from the audience. The performance of the play at this time, especially in Xi'an, where the enemy thought it would become a war zone, was of great significance." In order to meet the requirements of the people of Xi'an for watching the performance of the Western Warfare Corps, the Western Warfare Corps decided to hold the second and third public performances, and staged Beijing Opera "The Painting of the Martyrs", Qin Opera "The Martyrs Died for the Country" and other plays. The Western Warfare Regiment arrived in Xi'an on March 4, 1938 and left on July 22, engaging in activities in Xi'an
