Explore the world's only crop germplasm resource duplicate database

The National Crop Germplasm Resource Duplication Bank (Xining) is the only crop germplasm resource bank in the world that is preserved in duplicate form, known as the "Noah's Ark" of seeds. Hou Wanwei, Associate Researcher at the Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences of Qinghai University, said, "As of this year, the National Crop Germplasm Resources Repeated Database (Xining) has been operating safely for 50 years. As of April 2024, a total of 459228 germplasm resources of 220 crops, including grain, cotton, oil, fruits, vegetables, tea, sugar, and grass, have been preserved, and 11705 varieties have been approved at the ministerial level."
