Accelerating the development of new quality productive forces urgently requires a large number of top-notch innovative talents. Among the three elements of productivity, namely workers, means of labor, and objects of labor, workers are the most active and decisive force in productivity. Developing new productive forces requires strategic talents who can create new productive forces and applied talents who are proficient in mastering new means of production. Universities are an important combination of technology as the primary productive force, talent as the primary resource, and innovation as the primary driving force. They need to make efforts in cultivating top-notch innovative talents independently and demonstrate their mission and responsibility in providing solid talent support for new quality productive forces. Build a disciplinary and professional system that meets the needs of new productive forces. Disciplines and majors are the fundamental platform for talent cultivation, and the four pillars and eight pillars for carrying out organized training and building a high-quality talent cultivation system. In recent years, significant achievements have been made in the construction of disciplines and majors in China. The establishment and dynamic adjustment mechanism of disciplines and majors have been continuously improved, making them more responsive to major national strategies. However, there is still a gap compared to comprehensively improving the quality of independent talent cultivation, adapting to the needs of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and meeting the requirements of developing new quality productive forces. In the future, universities need to optimize their disciplinary settings and talent cultivation models based on new trends in economic and social development, in order to cultivate urgently needed talents for the development of new quality productive forces and the promotion of high-quality development. Aiming at the forefront of global technological and industrial development, actively adapting to the needs of national and regional economic and social development, knowledge innovation, scientific and technological progress, and industrial upgrading, and doing a good job in optimizing, adjusting, upgrading, replacing, and building new disciplines and majors. At the same time, make good use of the "catalyst" for interdisciplinary integration, establish a high-level interdisciplinary platform, form interdisciplinary groups and strong scientific research teams, strengthen collaborative innovation between disciplines, and cultivate a large number of strategic scientific and technological talents, leading scientific and technological talents, young scientific and technological talents, and high-level innovation teams with international level. Build a high-quality education and teaching system that meets the needs of new productive forces. Currently, higher education institutions have significantly improved their abilities in cultivating innovative talents, supporting technological self-reliance and self-improvement, and serving socio-economic development. Faced with the impact of new technologies such as artificial intelligence on the underlying logic of education, the ways of acquiring and supplying knowledge have undergone disruptive changes. It is urgent for higher education institutions to reshape the paradigm of talent cultivation and build a high-quality education and teaching system supported by digitalization.
