Government officials, business representatives, experts and scholars from China and Kenya participated in the event. Attendees stated that as the world's largest developing country and the continent with the largest number of developing countries, China and Africa adhere to the spirit of friendly cooperation between China and Africa, work together to promote their respective modernization construction with unique characteristics, and build a closer community with a shared future between China and Africa. Henry Rotich, president of the Kenya Students Association in China, said that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" project has greatly improved the travel efficiency of Kenyan people and driven the development of local commerce and trade. Taking the Mombasa Nairobi Railway as an example, the journey that used to take more than ten hours has been shortened to five or six hours, and the commercial districts along the way have gradually become prosperous. Kenyans love this railway. He said that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" has promoted the implementation of cross-border infrastructure projects in East Africa and promoted trade in goods and services. I hope China can help African countries cultivate more scientific and technological talents, achieve technology transfer, and promote local economic and social development. Benjamin Teitler, an alumnus working in the Kenyan police department, said that thanks to the talent development programs of Kenya and China, more Kenyan students have the opportunity to go to China for further education. They learn knowledge in engineering management, agricultural technology, artificial intelligence, and other fields, and make important contributions to the economic and social development of their country after returning home. Xu Jianping, Director of the Regional Opening up Department of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, said that the practical cooperation between China and Kenya in jointly building the "the Belt and Road" has been deepening, and a number of major landmark projects and "small and beautiful" livelihood projects have been completed. Agriculture, health, talent training and other projects are gradually advancing, which has effectively promoted the economic and social development and livelihood improvement of the local country. China will be committed to implementing high-quality cooperation and promoting more projects to benefit the people of Africa. As a representative of the enterprise, Zhao Lianzhi, Deputy General Manager of China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd., said that the company has sponsored 100 outstanding Kenyan high school graduates to receive undergraduate education in railway related majors at Beijing Jiaotong University, providing transportation and management talents for the railway industry in Kenya and even East Africa.
