The 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization concluded on the 2nd in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. After intensive consultations, the ministerial meeting achieved a pragmatic result of "1+10". During the meeting, the positive and constructive role played by China has won widespread praise from all parties. At the closing ceremony of that day, WTO members adopted the Abu Dhabi Ministerial Declaration, committing to strengthening the multilateral trading system and continuing to promote WTO reform. The declaration also emphasizes the central position of the development dimension in the work of the World Trade Organization, while recognizing the role of the multilateral trading system in promoting the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The results of this ministerial meeting also include the agreement on investment facilitation to promote development, which responds to the strong demands of developing members to attract foreign investment and develop the economy; Strive to restore the normal operation of the dispute resolution mechanism within this year through the Ministerial Decision on the Reform of the Dispute Resolution Mechanism; Through the E-commerce Work Plan, the temporary exemption of tariffs on electronic transmission will be extended to the next ministerial conference, providing a stable regulatory environment for the development of global digital trade; Realize the effectiveness of domestic regulatory negotiations on service trade and continuously reduce the cost of global service trade; Approve the accession of Comoros and East Timor to the World Trade Organization and continue to enhance the representativeness of the multilateral trading system; Assist relevant countries in better integrating into the multilateral trading system through the graduation and smooth transition ministerial decision of the least developed countries. In addition, the meeting achieved results on topics such as regulatory cooperation, small economies, non violation lawsuits, and situational lawsuits. WTO Director General Ivira thanked all members for their efforts in seeking consensus and believed that although some of the work at the conference was not completed, some important results were achieved. She stated that in an uncertain economic and geopolitical landscape, the World Trade Organization remains a source of stability and resilience. Sani Zeyudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, said in his speech that although the conference did not achieve all its goals, all parties committed to further strengthening the multilateral trading system. Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao led a delegation to attend the meeting. The Chinese delegation actively promoted negotiations and cooperation during this conference, and participated in all consultations throughout the process. In the negotiations on investment facilitation, fisheries subsidies, and other issues, China actively coordinates, cooperates, communicates, and interacts with all members, demonstrating the responsibility of a major country and making important contributions to promoting the success of the conference. It has won high praise from the attending parties, the host UAE, and the Director General of the World Trade Organization, Ivila.
