On February 19th local time, King Felipe VI of Spain met with visiting member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi in Madrid. Over the past 50 years, West China relations have developed rapidly, pragmatic cooperation has been smoothly promoted, and personnel exchanges have become increasingly close. Good relations with China are of great significance to Spain, Europe, and the world. Spain is willing to further expand new areas of cooperation with China. We look forward to and believe that China will further exert its significant positive influence as a major country, cool down tensions, and bring stability to the tumultuous world. The international situation is complex and profoundly evolving, but what remains unchanged is the profound friendship and tradition of mutual respect, trust, equality, and win-win cooperation between China and the West. The Chinese side appreciates the friendly policy pursued by the Spanish royal family towards China, supports Spain's efforts to maintain national unity and national unity, and believes that Spain will continue to understand and support each other on issues related to each other's core interests. We are willing to jointly inherit the friendship between China and the West, strengthen the docking of development strategies, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote the sustainable, healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. The overall modernization of over 1.4 billion Chinese people is a huge progress in the process of human civilization and will also bring important opportunities to the world. History has proven and will continue to prove that China's development is the enhancement of peaceful forces and the growth of stabilizing factors. Both China and the West are countries with a long history, diverse cultures, and inclusive societies. They share similar or identical views on major issues. We are willing to work with Spain to promote dialogue and cooperation among countries, overcome conflicts and differences, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind, better addressing global challenges. During the visit, Wang Yi also held talks with Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez and Foreign Minister Alvarez. (Lai Xin She)
