Wang Yi: China is willing to be a stable force in promoting global growth

2024-02-19

On February 17th local time, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the Munich Security Conference and delivered a keynote speech at the "China Special Session", emphasizing China's willingness to be a stabilizing force in promoting global growth. Wang Yi stated that the Chinese economy has always been full of vitality and resilience, and the long-term trend of improvement is becoming more apparent. Last year, it contributed one-third of the global growth with a growth rate of 5.2%. With the rapid growth of the world's largest market, China will release greater benefits to the world. The global business community generally believes that "the next China is still China". It is the greatest political consensus of the Chinese people to concentrate on achieving Chinese path to modernization. Accelerating the promotion of high-quality development is the hard truth for China in the new era. We will continue to expand institutional openness, reduce the negative list of foreign investment access, and provide a more market-oriented, legal, and international business environment for enterprises in various countries, including Europe. Currently, we have mutually waived visas with 23 countries and unilaterally waived visas for multiple countries including Europe. In the next step, we will provide more convenience for people from all countries to invest, develop, travel and study in China. Opposing "decoupling and chain breaking" has now become an international consensus, and more and more knowledgeable people realize that non cooperation is the biggest risk. Whoever attempts to promote "de sinicization" under the guise of "risk reduction" will make a historical mistake. The ocean of the world economy cannot retreat into isolated small lakes, and the trend of economic globalization cannot be reversed. We should work together to promote globalization towards a more inclusive and inclusive direction, so that more countries and people can benefit from it. (Lai Xin She)
