On January 30th, the world's highest power solution type medical isotope test reactor, designed and constructed by China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, officially began construction in Jiajiang, Leshan, Sichuan. It is understood that after the operation of the medical isotope test reactor, it can achieve an annual production capacity of 100000 curies for molybdenum 99 and 20000 curies for iodine 131 and other medical isotopes, respectively.
