The 19th summit of the Non Aligned Movement recently concluded in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. As an important platform for global consultation and cooperation among southern countries, the Non Aligned Movement has adopted the Kampala Declaration, issuing a united voice in response to the concerns of the international community and the challenges facing the world today. On January 20th, UN Secretary General Guterres delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the 19th Non Aligned Movement Summit held in Kampala, Uganda. The Declaration reaffirmed several principles established at the 1955 Bandung Conference and the establishment of the Non Aligned Movement in 1961, emphasizing the need to continue strengthening South South and North South cooperation, further upholding and promoting multilateralism, fully respecting international law and common principles, and calling on all countries to avoid infringing on the sovereignty of other countries and jointly address the threats and challenges faced by developing countries in promoting economic development and social progress. At the opening ceremony of the summit held on the 19th, Uganda officially succeeded Azerbaijan as the new rotating presidency of the organization. Ugandan President Museveni subsequently reviewed the Bandung Conference, stating that the Non Aligned Movement will uphold the spirit of independence at its inception and refuse to accept coercion, manipulation, and unilateralism from some developed countries towards other independent countries. "Our position is that the world should focus on solving the common challenges of humanity: achieving prosperity through trade, solving problems through scientific and technological progress, paying attention to the environment, combating crime and terrorism. If we act properly, our future will be bright," said Museveni. Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Baylamov stated that the summit is taking place at a time when the global governance system is facing severe challenges, and member countries of the Non Aligned Movement should maintain unity and work together to address these challenges. The Declaration emphasizes that in the current turbulent international situation, especially in the tense geopolitical situation, the Non Aligned Movement should play a greater role. At the same time, the Declaration strongly condemns Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip, indiscriminate attacks on Palestinian civilians and civilian targets, and calls for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. On January 20th, the attending representatives attended the closing ceremony of the 19th Non Aligned Movement Summit held in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. UN Secretary General Guterres reiterated his call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the unconditional release of all detainees at the closing ceremony on the 20th, emphasizing the importance of a two country solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. During the summit, representatives from multiple countries called on member countries of the Non Aligned Movement to strengthen unity and cooperation in international affairs, uphold multilateralism and the common interests of southern countries worldwide. The Declaration also emphasizes the need to strengthen the capacity of the United Nations as a major multilateral organization, to effectively implement the purposes and principles stipulated in the United Nations Charter, and to become a more democratic, inclusive, just, and representative institution. The Declaration also emphasizes the necessity of accelerating the reform of the United Nations Security Council. Museveni called for the Non Aligned Movement to exert greater influence in international affairs, especially at the future summit to be held by the United Nations in September this year. Non Aligned Movement member countries should strengthen cooperation and determine priorities that are beneficial to developing countries
