I am Hendriyanto Steven, a student from Indonesia. My Chinese name is Guo Yongfen. I come to China with a beautiful vision to study abroad. I hope this experience can open the door to personal development and international cross-cultural exchange, strive to pursue my dreams, create a better future, and contribute to the friendship and cooperation between China and India. The Wonderful Journey of Cultural Intersection: My interest in traditional Chinese culture began with exposure to some Chinese elements in Indonesia. In Indonesia, we can see many celebrations of Chinese traditional festivals, such as the dragon and lion dances in the Spring Festival, the moon watching in the Mid-Autumn Festival... These festivals have unique traditional customs, which have aroused my interest to continue exploring. Later on, I gradually came into contact with the traditional Chinese musical instruments, the guzheng, and the quintessential Chinese opera, all of which made me admire and admire these national treasures. Rich cultural exchange activities and learning resources are also one of the ways for me to come into contact with traditional Chinese culture. As an active cultural enthusiast, I often see Chinese painting, calligraphy, Paper Cuttings and other art forms in Chinese cultural exhibitions and art performances; I will also deepen my understanding of the development of Chinese history and philosophical ideas by reading relevant books and watching video courses. In Indonesia, we can not only appreciate the classic works of Chinese philosophers and artists from different eras, but also see new interpretations and attempts by Indonesian scholars and artists on traditional Chinese cultural ideas and art. On days such as the Mid Autumn Festival, which symbolizes harmony and unity, calligraphers and painters from both countries often use calligraphy and painting to make friends and express their deep feelings through pen and ink. Indonesian teachers learn Chinese calligraphy (pictured/Central Conservatory of Music). Traditional Chinese culture has amazed the world with its profound heritage and uniqueness. I greatly appreciate the Chinese people's emphasis on excellent traditional values, such as respect for elders and the pursuit of etiquette and harmony. These values have also deeply imprinted my growth path. As a student from Indonesia, I believe that through my own learning and efforts, I can respect and deeply understand Chinese culture, exercise broad and inclusive cross-cultural thinking, and contribute to the friendly exchanges between China and Indonesia in the future, witnessing the two countries working together to create a better future. An unheard of challenge, however, upon arriving in China, language communication became the primary challenge for me and many international students, and my less proficient Chinese always caused some funny and amusing things. In addition, I have not been in Guangzhou for a long time and have not fully adapted to the lifestyle of this city and the speed of speaking to local Chinese people. In addition, the Chinese language system is very complex, and people from different regions may speak Mandarin with dialect accents, which is a huge challenge for me. However, these experiences and insights not so much made me feel "language barrier", but rather gave me a genuine and in-depth understanding of the diversity of Chinese people and their language and culture. But unexpectedly, the most challenging aspect for me was traveling. I am a person who loves sports and enjoys discovering new things. However, when I first came to China, due to my unfamiliarity with language, travel habits, transportation systems, etc., traveling became my lifestyle in Guangzhou
