Digital technology dating back 5000 years: Liangzhu Ancient City Site Park launches new gameplay during National Day

In the ruins of Liangzhu Ancient City, the central Mojiao Mountain was once a palace district 5000 years ago, with a prominent position. Tourists visiting this area during this year's National Day have a new gameplay - using digital technology to go back five thousand years and see how the people of Liangzhu live. The reporter learned from the Management Committee of Liangzhu Site Management Zone in Hangzhou that under the guidance of archaeological experts and technology teams, during the National Day holiday, Liangzhu Ancient City Site Park launched the "Mojiao Mountain Pilgrimage Road AR Experience Project", which integrates digital technologies such as AR (augmented reality), AI (artificial intelligence), and large language models, overlaying real-life scenarios to create a spatiotemporal journey for tourists who have come from their homes to their surroundings. The "Pilgrimage Road" is about 300 meters long. After tourists scan the QR code of the AR program at the starting point, the AR program will push 6 AR scenes one after another based on the changes in the scenery around the tourists. The scene includes the life of the Liangzhu people, as well as pottery making, palace construction, and ritual celebrations. Standing on the mountaintop of Mojiao, tourists can take photos with the "palace" and "group photo" in the scene. Standing in front of the panoramic sand table, tourists can see important sites such as the "King's Mausoleum" on the anti mountain, the Yaoshan Altar and the high-level aristocratic cemetery, and the peripheral water conservancy project of Liangzhu Ancient City in the scene. Overlooking the sandy square, tourists can see the scene of civilians, nobles, and soldiers lining up. The AR project is also equipped with a virtual tour guide, featuring characters from the Liangzhu period as exclusive guides, including three characters: the king, commoner, and the protagonist "Liangliang" in the Liangzhu Museum's popular science picture book, guiding tourists to explore the mysteries of Liangzhu characters from multiple perspectives. Tourists can also communicate with Chinese and English digital tour guides on the "AI Dialogue" interface, and receive professional answers based on authoritative content corpora. The image of large earthen sites, including the Liangzhu Site, is described by industry insiders as a vast expanse of barren hills on the ground and a myriad of underground phenomena. In the past, tourists could only recall the glory of these major sites by looking at on-site illustrations and listening to explanations, combined with personal imagination. And digital technology reproduces the magnificent scenery of 5000 years ago, vividly explaining the value of the Liangzhu Site, a holy land that exemplifies the 5000 year history of Chinese civilization, to the public and enhancing the cultural experience of tourists.
