The implementation of garbage classification is related to the living environment of the general public, the conservation of resources, and an important manifestation of social civilization level. Nowadays, from urban to rural areas, more and more people are taking action to promote garbage classification as a new low-carbon lifestyle fashion, actively contributing to promoting ecological civilization construction and improving the level of civilization in the whole society. Hua Lei is the Secretary of the Party General Branch of Ruiyi Residential District, Jiaxing Road Street, Hongkou District, Shanghai. In her eyes, garbage sorting is a "very difficult household task". Over the past 5 years, she has driven more than 1700 residents in the community, experiencing a transition from not understanding, not getting used to, and not adapting to actively participating in garbage classification. What is garbage classification? What is dry garbage or wet garbage? Originally, there were garbage bins on each floor of the hallway, and it was more convenient for everyone to throw garbage in bags at their doorstep. Why did they change it? At the beginning, people had little understanding or understanding of garbage classification, "Hua Lei said." Our job is to continuously improve residents' enthusiasm for participating in garbage classification through publicity and guidance. Volunteers have become the "lubricant" and "catalyst" of this work. A "Green Elf" volunteer team consisting of residents has been established in the Ruiyi residential area. Through emotional connections among residents, they go door-to-door to distribute garbage classification knowledge promotional materials to residents. The first challenge is that there is significant resistance in removing trash cans from each floor of the building. Wu Laobo, a 67 year old resident of the community, recalled, "At the beginning, many people were unwilling to even go downstairs and throw them away, let alone classify them." The difficulty of "getting it right in one step" was too great, so the volunteers ingeniously designed a "garbage classification fashion index red and black list". Posted by the property management in the lobby of each building on the first floor, displaying the garbage classification status of each floor with "crying face" and "smiling face" icons every day. If the classification is accurate, it is called a "smiling face", and if more than three pieces of dry garbage are mixed in the wet trash can, it is called a "crying face". Who can endure being stuck with 'crying faces' all the time? "Uncle Wu smiled and said, everyone wants to turn' crying faces' into 'smiling faces' as soon as possible. Gradually, garbage sorting has become a 'muscle memory' for residents, and new fashion has become a good habit. Volunteers also walked into schools and enterprises, and through indoor lectures, self created and self performed situational interactive meetings, and on-site activities to teach residents how to turn waste into treasure, the awareness of garbage classification took root in the hearts of the masses.
