On November 15, "Offshore Oil 301", the first and the largest LNG transportation and refueling ship in China and the world, was completed and delivered in Nansha, Guangzhou by Wenchong Repair and Manufacturing Company of China Shipbuilding Group Guangzhou Shipbuilding International for CNOOC Energy Development Co., Ltd. After transformation, the "Offshore Oil 301" will become a LNG transportation and refueling ship carrying LNG (liquefied natural gas) and having the LNG refueling function, which can provide ship to ship refueling services for large LNG fuel powered ships berthing at domestic coastal ports. "Offshore Oil 301" has a total length of 184.7 meters, a shape width of 28.1 meters, and can load 30000 cubic meters of LNG. It is the first LNG carrier independently designed, built, managed and operated in China. The ship was officially put into operation in September 2015, mainly serving the secondary transfer of LNG between China's coastal LNG terminals, taking into account the international short distance transportation of LNG. "Offshore Oil 301" was originally a LNG carrier. This time, it was renovated in Wenchong Repair and Manufacturing Company affiliated to China Shipbuilding Group Guangzhou Shipbuilding International, mainly adding LNG filling system, combustion device, cryogenic re liquefaction device, mooring winch, crane and related liquid cargo control system. LNG bunkering is a key link in the fuel water supply chain. At present, the methods of LNG bunkering can be generally divided into tank car bunkering, shore station bunkering, barge bunkering and bunkering ship bunkering. LNG bunkering ships are more suitable for bulk bunkering. Technically, bunkering operations can be carried out synchronously during ship loading and unloading. For busy ports and large ships, fuel replenishment can be completed without entering the port. It is reported that ship to ship refueling can provide more efficient, timely and large-scale refueling services. Up to now, there are more than 30 LNG bunkering ships in the world. After the transformation and delivery of "Offshore Oil 301", it will be the first LNG bunkering ship in China. (Liu Xinshe)
