The leader should have a sense of "family" and treat his subordinates like relatives

2022-10-27

President Xi pointed out that it is necessary to "cultivate the revolutionary friendship of sharing weal and woe, life and death with soldiers, and consolidate and develop the internal relations of unity, friendship, harmony and purity". The army is a melting pot and a big family. "Friends in arms and comrades in arms are like brothers". To consolidate and develop good internal relations, leaders should strengthen the awareness of "one family", treat their subordinates like relatives, and build their units like families. Pay attention to leading the troops with emotion. During the growth of officers and soldiers, it is inevitable that there will be ideological confusion or behavioral deviation due to various factors. Soldier leaders should devote their true feelings to correcting their errors and helping them solve their doubts as parents treat their children. Be patient with the trivial matters of the officers and soldiers, and worry about the important and difficult matters of the officers and soldiers. In the daily management work, we should observe the officers and soldiers more carefully, think more thoroughly and deeply. When officers and soldiers are confused, they should take the initiative to enlighten them, and when they are wronged, they should listen to them. They should carefully help them solve the practical difficulties in their work, life, growth and progress, and truly "treat their soldiers as if they love their children", so that they can better win the hearts of soldiers and obtain the trust and support of officers and soldiers. We need to follow the times. Facing the new generation of officers and soldiers with active thinking and personality, we need to go into their hearts, listen to their voices and touch their pulse. Pay attention to look at officers and soldiers with an appreciative eye, be good at finding their shining points, affirm every progress they have made in a timely manner, and let them constantly stimulate their initiative, enthusiasm and creativity in entrepreneurship in a positive incentive. Realize genuine integration. In the construction and development of the army, the leader should be responsible for both the combat effectiveness of the army and its officers and soldiers, and should establish brotherhood with them. This requires the leader to bend down, put down his airs, and open his heart to the officers and soldiers in equal communication. In life, the leader should not only "face to face" with the officers and soldiers, but also "line to line". On the basis of the implementation of the traditional "Five Harmonies", he should pay more attention to the communication and interaction on the network, truly feel the pulse of the officers and soldiers, and feel their ideological fluctuations and emotional changes. We should put ourselves in their shoes and care about their needs. We should be able to shield them from the wind and rain at ordinary times and solve their problems at critical moments. Such leaders are more authoritative and charismatic, and the troops they bring out are more cohesive and combat effective. There is an unwritten rule in Qi Fabao's regiment: soldiers don't fill their bowls when eating, cadres don't serve their bowls, soldiers sleep inside and cadres sleep out when camping... Practice has repeatedly told us that if you love soldiers, you can't lead them. Only when officers and soldiers are brothers in peacetime, can they live and die in wartime. Adhere to strict management. As the saying goes: "Strict is love, loose is harm." Only by adhering to the combination of strict management and love, and by injecting principle and discipline into the care for subordinates, can leaders truly benefit the healthy growth of officers and soldiers and the development of the army. If we persist in "kindness", excessive "care", or even unprincipled tolerance, our officers and soldiers will become "flowers in the greenhouse", unable to withstand the test and shoulder the heavy task. The army is going to fight. Only by sweating more in peacetime and shedding less blood in wartime can the army fight less. A qualified leader
