On May 7th, the "Tongyong Garden Dream" shield machine of China Railway 14th Bureau successfully completed the 5434 meter excavation task, marking the successful completion of the first shield section of the Suzhou East Tunnel of the newly built Nantong Ningbo High speed Railway (referred to as Tongyong High speed Railway). The Suzhou East Tunnel is one of the control projects of the Tongyong High speed Railway, with a total length of 15.57 kilometers. The Tongyong High speed Railway is an important component of China's "Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals" high-speed railway network along the coast. After completion, it will further improve the railway network structure in the Yangtze River Delta region and promote the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. (New Society)
