The Indonesian Confucius Institute Exchange Forum was announced on the 7th in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, to strengthen cooperation and resource sharing among members, promote high-quality development of Chinese language teaching, and deepen people to people and cultural exchanges between Indonesia and China. The forum consists of 8 Confucius Institutes and 1 Confucius Classroom in Indonesia, with the relevant regulations of the China International Chinese Education Foundation as the business guidelines. The general assembly of all members is the highest decision-making body of the forum, responsible for formulating the constitution and reviewing major issues. Wang Siping, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, delivered a speech at the establishment ceremony, stating that Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms have played a positive role in promoting education cooperation between China and Indonesia and cultivating bilingual talents. In recent years, the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, and humanities has continued to deepen, and the achievements have become increasingly fruitful. Against this backdrop, the establishment of the Indonesian Confucius Institute Exchange Forum is timely and will inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Chinese education in Indonesia. Zhao Lingshan, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China International Chinese Education Foundation, said that the establishment of the forum will promote resource sharing, achieve complementary advantages, improve the quality of education, form a joint force, and serve local needs. Gede, Vice President of Indonesia's Ganesh National Pedagogical University, said that Chinese is one of the important languages in the world, and Confucius Institutes play an irreplaceable role in international Chinese language teaching and teacher training. The newly established forum will expand the academic cooperation network, promote teacher-student exchanges and joint research, and promote the continuous development of academic cooperation in Chinese education.
