According to the statistics from the Zhuhai Border Inspection Station and the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station, on May 4th, there were over 27000 vehicles entering and exiting the Zhuhai Highway Port via the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, including 26000 small passenger cars and over 15000 "Hong Kong vehicles heading north". All three data points have broken the historical record for the highest daily traffic at the port. During the May Day holiday, there is a strong demand for Hong Kong and Macao residents to drive northward to visit relatives and friends, as well as for tourism, which has driven the continuous increase in traffic flow at ports. According to data provided by the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge border inspection station, from May 1st to 4th, the total number of "Hong Kong vehicles heading north" and "Australian vehicles heading north" inspected by the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge border inspection station exceeded 64000, an increase of about 60% year-on-year.
