As the May Fourth Youth Day approaches, a symphony of innovation belonging to the new era of Chinese youth is slowly playing in the North 1-3 exhibition halls of the National Museum of China. The "Song of Youth - National Exhibition of College Students' Innovation Achievements" jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, and organized by the National Museum of China, kicked off on April 29th. As the first exhibition of the "National Exhibition" of the National Museum of China in 2025, this achievement exhibition focuses on three dimensions: "Science and Technology Star", "Youth Dedication", and "Homeland Sentiment". There are over a hundred achievements neatly arranged, presenting a panoramic view of the innovative landscape of young people in the new era. Expanding the boundaries of innovation with the power of youth. Youth is an important force in innovation. As soon as you enter the exhibition hall, you can feel the vigorous innovation vitality of contemporary Chinese university students coming towards you. They have achieved remarkable achievements in multiple cutting-edge technological fields such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, high-end manufacturing, and advanced materials. Look, in a corner of the exhibition hall, a white and gray colored robotic dog - a quadruped robot - stands on the booth, with the screen behind it replaying its steady progress. This is the "Cloud Deep Shadow" series quadruped robot developed by a student team from Zhejiang University. Although the body size is not large, it is equipped with independently developed joints, control systems, and leading algorithms. It can walk, jump, spin, avoid obstacles, and even navigate and work autonomously in poor lighting environments. Nowadays, this "robotic dog" has collaborated with State Grid to perform unmanned inspection tasks in high-voltage substations, effectively improving detection efficiency and ensuring the safety of workers' lives. On the other side of the exhibition hall, the "Nezha" series of sea and air cross domain unmanned aerial vehicles designed by the student team of Shanghai Jiao Tong University attracted everyone's attention with its eye-catching yellow and black appearance. As the world's first "sea air integrated" cross domain aircraft platform, "Nezha" is like a myth, "flying into the sea, flying and diving together", and has important value in fields such as ocean exploration, ocean engineering construction, ocean resource development, and national defense construction. According to project leader Lv Chenxin, the project has completed the pilot implementation of its core technology and is expected to promote larger scale experiments and applications. I used to think that technology was far away from life, but now I increasingly feel that they are right beside me. ”A mother who was taking her child to the exhibition sighed. The audience followed the guide to watch the exhibition, and from time to time, there were whispers of surprise from the crowd. These exclamation marks are not only an admiration for cutting-edge technology, but also a tribute to the vigorous innovation ability of young people. The innovative ability of young people to solve industry difficulties with their youthful wisdom is not only reflected in the exploration of multiple field boundaries, but also in the precise breakthrough of industry development bottlenecks. Driven by the global energy transition and the "dual carbon" goal, the new energy vehicle industry is developing rapidly, and the large-scale processing of retired lithium batteries has become a focus of the industry. Therefore, the "Retired Lithium Battery Full Resource Recycling Technology and Industrialization" project has emerged. The student team of North China Electric Power University has independently developed technology and equipment to achieve efficient separation of materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel. At present, the comprehensive recovery rate of the equipment exceeds 98% and has been put into operation, opening up an efficient resource regeneration path for the industry and society. Behind the vision of project leader Zhang Zhenxi is not only a keen insight into the value of "circular economy", but also a young person who dares to think and act. Technological challenges need to be overcome, and cultural heritage also urgently requires innovative assistance. The "one-stop solution for digitizing complex ancient texts and documents" developed by a student team from Inner Mongolia University integrates fully automatic page turning and scanning robots, minority character recognition technology, and a digital platform. While simplifying the process of digitizing minority language ancient texts, it also significantly improves conversion accuracy. When it comes to the original intention, project leader Ourileke frankly stated, "I am a Mongolian, and in the process of learning, I have found that the digitalization process of Mongolian ancient books is very slow, which is very unfavorable for the inheritance of Chinese culture. Therefore, I want to use my professional knowledge to make some efforts." With his and his classmates' persistent iteration and updating, the millennium epic finally jumped from yellowing pages to the digital cloud. As the vanguard force of the progress of the times, Chinese college students cherish their country and the people with the light of youth shining on the world. They use knowledge and love as a link to truly integrate "innovation" into people's well-being. In a corner of the exhibition hall, a rubber tree "rises from the ground", surrounded by small black machines. The screen next to it is playing the precise operation of the machine in the rubber forest in a loop - this is the "Rubber 'Smart' Forward" intelligent rubber cutting machine from the student team of Hainan University. Traditional rubber cutting must be carried out between 1 and 2 o'clock in the morning, and rubber farmers work very hard. Nowadays, more and more people are unwilling to engage in this industry. The project team has innovatively designed three core mechanisms: flexible fixation, spiral motion, and contour cutting, to address the pain points of low efficiency and severe staff turnover in traditional rubber cutting. These mechanisms enable the machine to automatically adhere to tree trunks and complete deep and stable rubber cutting operations. According to the person in charge, Wang Ziyi, using this machine, rubber farmers only need to set working hours and other information on their mobile phones to achieve "one click cutting", and the precision of the machine's cutting depth can significantly improve cutting efficiency. The machine's battery can last for about 3 months on each charge, injecting new vitality into the rubber industry in Hainan with "no damage to trees and low maintenance". Innovation is not just about technology, but also about ideas. Turning a corner, on the display platform of "Handcrafted Hut", there are neatly arranged handmade "Nezha" and "Aobing" ornaments, with cups and bowls of various shapes next to them. At the bottom, there are also several crystal clear handmade soaps - all of which are public welfare cultural and creative products made by rural disabled people and their families with the help of "Handcrafted Hut". The "Handou Hut" project from the student team of Xiamen University has built a three-dimensional employment network for rural disabled people. By providing 14 family asset construction plans and 24 employment options, the team has cultivated 10 employment brands for people with disabilities. Behind the various cultural and creative products as well as agricultural products on the exhibition stand is the result of over 2000 people's assistance from the "Handou Hut", and the warmth of youth ripples in people's hearts. College students are the most vivid footnotes of youth, interpreting the power of youth with passion and dreams, and writing the chapter of the times with innovation and struggle. (New Society)
