How to involve college students in community governance practices and provide them with opportunities to explore society more deeply? On the 24th, it was learned that the college student community course creation competition held in Shanghai for many years has become a window and platform for young college students to understand people's livelihoods. The final of the second "Collaborative Creation and Learning · Shanghai College Student Community Creative Course Competition" will be held on the 24th. Ten excellent creative course competition teams, selected through multiple rounds of selection, made their debut on stage in the finals. They engaged in a three minute lecture and dueled in pairs. After voting by the on-site expert group, observation group, and audience group, each theme produced a creative course that won the "Theme Characteristic Award". This event is jointly organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Shanghai Education Development Foundation, and co organized by 28 universities including East China Normal University. Community colleges and community (elderly) schools at all levels in the city participate extensively. The organizer stated that the original intention of the design of the College Student Community Creative Course Competition project is to attract more college students to enter the community, ask questions from the people, and use their own expertise to develop diversified courses for the public, serving the lifelong learning and personal development of citizens. It is reported that after 7 years of practical exploration, this project has not only cultivated a vibrant team of community education volunteers and part-time teachers, but also helped participating college students participate in community governance practices, providing them with a window and platform to explore society and understand people's livelihoods more deeply. The community education curriculum resources developed by young college students full of youth and strength are full of contemporary atmosphere and fashionable creativity, which not only enriches the community education resource library, but also expands the influence and attraction of community education and lifelong learning culture among the youth group. At the final of the day, the organizers showcased typical cases of previous innovative course projects participating in community education and continuously providing teaching services to the public. Community schools from Xuhui District and Minhang District, as well as a team of guidance teachers from Shanghai Second University of Technology, presented to the audience a collaborative incubation of community and university courses. Since its launch, this year's "Collaborative Creation and Learning · Shanghai College Student Community Creative Course Competition" has attracted 345 teams consisting of approximately 1400 students from 35 universities to register. After training and preliminary course design, 240 teams consisting of 1012 students were selected at the district level to win the "Potential Course Creation Award" and entered the incubation and development stage of community course creation. Under the guidance of community and university instructors, each potential course creation competition team, after more than four months of course development and production, ultimately completed 179 community courses that meet the standards of community education courses, with over 400 hours of community course implementation and teaching throughout the city. It is reported that this year's college community innovation courses are centered around five major themes: "health literacy," "cultural literacy," "information literacy," "civic literacy," and "life literacy," striving to be close to community life and citizen needs. In the end, a total of 80 district level creative courses were recommended from 11 competition areas in Shanghai to enter the city level finals, and 10 city level boutique creative courses, 14 city level shortlisted boutique creative courses, and 56 city level excellent creative courses were produced. The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission stated that in the future, community entrepreneurship courses will continue to expand their radiation and coverage, attract and encourage more college students to participate, provide more suitable, creative, and professional community education content for community residents nearby, and better play the positive role of college student community entrepreneurship courses in promoting the comprehensive development of young students, assisting community governance, and serving the construction of Shanghai's learning city.
