Hong Kong hosts cultural cooperation forum to promote harmonious coexistence of Asian cultures

The Asian Cultural Cooperation Forum+2025- Ministerial Symposium, organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, was held in Hong Kong on the 22nd. 17 cultural ministers or representatives from different countries and regions in Asia conducted in-depth discussions on policies and experiences to promote cultural exchange, encouraging the inheritance of their own culture and promoting harmonious coexistence of Asian cultures. The Asian Cultural Cooperation Forum+2025, with the theme of "Connecting, Co creating, and Participating: Building Cross Cultural Bridges", aims to provide a platform for participating countries and regions to share their visions, policies, and strategic directions on how to promote the development of art, culture, and creative industries, cultivate industry talents, promote innovation cooperation, and encourage diverse and inclusive community participation, injecting new impetus into the cultural development of the region. Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Gao Zheng, delivered a speech on site, stating that Asian countries are connected by mountains and rivers, and have a shared culture. The brilliant achievements of civilization created by our predecessors are a valuable asset and solid foundation for our cultural exchange and cooperation. It is necessary to improve the level of inter governmental cooperation mechanism, close the cooperation between cultural and art institutions, help cultural enterprises achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, support enterprises to grasp the development trend of digital, networked and intelligent cultural industries, and provide increasingly rich cultural experience for people of all countries. The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Rosamund Law, stated that multiculturalism gathers in Hong Kong, attracting art enthusiasts from all over the world to participate in art trading activities, making Hong Kong one of the world's three major art trading centers. In addition, the 14th Five Year Plan explicitly supports Hong Kong's development as a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries. With the full operation of the West Kowloon Cultural District and Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong's development in the cultural field will be more diverse and colorful. The Asian Cultural Cooperation Forum was founded by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2003 with the aim of promoting cultural cooperation and exchange with various sectors, providing a cultural exchange platform within Asia, and enhancing Hong Kong's image as the cultural capital of Asia. This forum will last for 2 days, and in addition to the ministerial symposium, activities such as the "From Connection to Co creation: Establishing a Collaborative Platform" special conference will also be held.
