The "2025 Reprint Index Release of Newspapers and Periodicals and Preprint Platform Construction Forum" with the theme of "Academic Journal Development and Preprint Platform Construction" was recently held in Renmin University of China. The preprint platform is an important part of the academic exchange system and plays an irreplaceable role in promoting the rapid release and efficient exchange of scientific research achievements. Valuing and promoting the development of preprint platforms is of great significance for implementing the deployment of national scientific research papers and high-end exchange platforms for scientific and technological information, enhancing scientific and technological capabilities, improving China's academic discourse power, and serving the construction of first-class scientific and technological journals. Zhao Chuandong, deputy director of the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences, said that Renmin University of China launched the first preprint platform of philosophy and social sciences in China, and jointly built and operated with more than 500 journals nationwide, making positive contributions to improving academic evaluation, innovating academic exchanges and communication methods. The forum released two academic evaluation results of "National People's Congress Reprinting": "Research Report on Reprinting Index of Reprinting Newspaper and Publication Materials (2024)" and "Important Reprinting Source Institutions of Reprinting Newspaper and Publication Materials (2024 Edition)". The results show that in 2024, a total of 627 academic journals were selected for the journal reprint index table, accounting for approximately 16.50% of all philosophical and social science journals; A total of 148 teaching and research institutions were selected for the institutional reposting index table, accounting for approximately 14.26% of the total reposted institutions; A total of 179 primary institutions and 307 institutions affiliated with higher education institutions have been selected as important sources of reprints for photocopying newspapers and periodicals (2024 edition), accounting for approximately 9.80% and 8.30% of the total number of similar institutions reprinted, respectively. Yang Hongyan, deputy director of the Book and Newspaper Information Center of Renmin University of China, said that the academic evaluation of "reprinted by the National People's Congress" has three characteristics: "original orientation", "article evaluation" and "full evaluation". The relevant evaluation results have been published for 25 consecutive years, becoming an influential academic evaluation brand in the academic and periodical circles, and playing a good demonstration and promotion role in the high-quality development of academic journals and innovative academic research. On the same day, the Book and Newspaper Data Center of Renmin University of China and the Document and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly promote the cross integration of natural science and philosophy and social science and create a platform for scientific and technological progress and theoretical innovation.
